Hilton Head Island Vacation: Part 1

We were all VERY ready for a much needed vacation. On Friday morning we were up bright and early ready to hit the road. For this trip, the kids rode with my parents and Louis, Sean and I were in the other car. Selfishly, I loved this part because I could relax and read books :)

After two LONG days in the car we finally arrived!!! Blake liked his home for the next week.

Got on the beach to watch the sunset that first night. Some good Blake and Daddy time.

Day 1: Up bright and early and ready for swimming.

Mom and Sean

Blake worked all week on perfecting his jump into the water

Brookie was a fish, she was loving the water

It is scary how alike these two are

Ready to head to dinner: matching shirts for the win!

Day 2: Back on the beach early in the morning

In the morning Louis golfed the Harbour Town course. Unfortunately, a tropical storm was coming in and he got soaked. He made it through all 18 holes but had to buy a new shirt in the club house to dry off.

Meanwhile, even though it was pouring we hit up the outlet mall (had roofs for us to walk from store to store and stay dry. Luckily they had some little rides for the kids to keep them entertained.

Even though it was raining, it didn't stop the fun. We had a family movie night with popcorn to end our day

Day 3: Clear skies and sunshine returned!!!

Blake and his new friend the blue heron. He was there all week.

Fueling up with a good breakfast

Blake showing off his muscles

Burrito babies

While Blake was napping Brooke put on his hat and shirt :)

Back on the beach

All cleaned up for dinner

One of my favorite pictures. There was a guy singing right in front of them and Brooke thought it was too loud. Haha.

Ending the night with ice cream

Random Goodies

Mother's Day selfie after breakfast

She is getting too big!

They like to be "burritos" after bath time

"Papa, I am wearing your favorite shirt"

We needed some exercise so even though it was 45 degrees outside we decided to walk to the "big" park.

Love her face!

I wish I got the blankets on the way home!

She didn't want to fall asleep in her bed but knew she had to stay in her room.....this is the result. Hallway sleeping.

Riding her bike (aka Mommy pushing her)

Ready for the beach!!!!!! I love matching shirts

Yep, she has a dress on. Lets keep that going little one!!

Train Date

The other weekend I had the kids by myself and I wanted to plan something. So I convinced Blake's two besties and their Mom's to all hang out. Britt had the great idea of taking the train to Des Plaines and going to the Choo Choo restaurant. The weather was FREEZING (please note my kid still insisted on shorts!) but the kids had a great time.

Apparently at age 4 they already figured out it isnt cool to hang out with their Moms. They rode on top while we hung out below.

Lunch time!

We had some time to kill before the train so we walked to the library. Probably not the best idea to pick a quiet place but it worked out well.

Blake is waving even though it looks like he doesn't want his pic taken.

Reading nook

The best part, he fell asleep right away on the way home!!

A City Birthday Celebration

After celebrating my brother and Mom's birthday in January and having so much fun, we decided to do it again to celebrate my Dad's birthday. It was rainy and cold (go figure for an Unti celebration!) so first stop was Eataly!!

Me and Sean

Louis and I

Back at RPM Italian. They sat us at the exact same table as last time, so clearly they know we are regulars now and get "our" table. With the birthday boy!

Dad asked for a picture with a kiss on the check, one of us nailed it, the other not so much #seanisstillthefavorite

Original Unti 4

Appropriate for a family picture in front of the wine!

The next day we celebrated with the kids. They are both trying to figure out how to get their hands on that cake as soon as possible!!

Thanks for the great birthday weekend Dad! It was a lot of fun!!
