The Malic household will no longer be dominated by males! On Monday we found out that we are having a baby girl in March!! Woohoo. Now this just means lots of fun shopping for me and preparing Blake to be the protective big brother.
Our little sweet pea is growing right on track and everything is looking normal. That is the best part-- a healthy baby!!!
Since attempting a family picture at Blake's birthday was an epic fail, We decided that before Melanie left that we would attempt a family picture on Sunday (Blake's actual birthday). Luckily the stars aligned for two minutes and we got a decent family picture. WOOOHOOO. It is a birthday miracle.
For Blake's 2nd Birthday we decided to keep things low key. Luckily, Melanie, Ryan and Maddie were able to come visit over his birthday weekend (they normally come during Labor Day but couldn't this year). This meant that the birthday celebration lasted all weekend.
One of the few times over the weekend they were both calm and relaxed!
Getting crazy in the basement using the slide and jumping in all of the birthday balloons
Goofballs on the couch
On Saturday afternoon we had Blake's party. We just invited the grandparents, Katie, Eric and Raegan and then of course Melanie, Ryan and Maddie.
Blake had just woken up from his nap when the party started, he wasn't a happy camper. Raegan was also really upset that she had to share the birthday boy!
Not surprising, Blake and his Papa
Ahhh, its so easy taking pictures without kids in them!
Yep, this is what happens when we try to include the kids......
This picture explains it all....being a toddler is tough!!
Our sweet little man is two today. We cannot believe how fast these last two years have gone by. He is getting such a strong personality and talking up a storm. We know he is going to make the best big brother. We love you peanut!!
On Saturday we had Dave (Louis and I's old boss from Hewitt) and his daughter Katie over for a playdate. The last time we had a playdate with them was about a year ago. Clearly this was long overdue. Katie is only a few weeks younger than Blake so I was curious to see how they would interact. Although, leave it to Blake to not be wearing any pants for the majority of the playdate! I swear, I think he is a secret nudist!!
Playing outside. Blake is definitely not a fan of sharing, haha
Warming up to the idea of Katie touching his toys
Katie even scored a big Blake hug when she was leaving. What a ladies man!
On Sunday, Goddard (Blake's daycare) threw their annual Fall Fest. As one of the parents on the planning committee I knew that we had to hit up this fest. Besides being free, it was going to be filled with all of his friends and teachers. Perfect!
Blake of course was clingy at the beginning but did insist on going to stand by the big scarecrow
The pumpkin painting station was definitely his favorite. He covered that entire pumpkin, including the stem! He must have used a gallon of paint.
Of course Mommy is the one who also gets covered in paint while Daddy maintains a safe distance!
After pumpkin painting Blake and Louis made a Halloween necklace for me and ate a bunch of apple cider donuts (yummy). I had to help man one of the booths for a little bit so Louis and Blake walked around a bit and then ate some food. By the end Blake was falling asleep in my arms.
