Our Christmas

This year we started off by spending Christmas Eve at my parents house. We had a nice meal and the kids (that included Louis, Me and Sean) got to open one present.

Brookie was teething and had an ear infection so she wasn't really into smiling.

We used Papa's computer to track Santa. Blake wouldn't stop staring at the screen!!

Christmas morning Blake woke up to find that Santa brought him a "little kitchen" just like he asked for!!

Brooke was also really excited for all the presents

And Santa made good on his word to get Blake a "big shooting gun". This thing is crazy!! Oops.

My attempt to get the kids to sit and look at the camera in front of the tree... Oh well.

After we cleaned up and enjoyed the presents from Santa we headed over to my parents house to continue the celebration.

Blake was VERY excited to get his own bag of pistachios. Haha. It is the little things.

This is Blake telling me to get Brooke off of him and away from his toys!!

Blake "teaching" aka taking over Brooke's new toys

My attempt at a family Christmas picture 3 out of 4 isn't bad. #tryagainnextyear

The coziest way to spend Christmas. On the couch watching a Christmas movie

The next day after a quick visit to the doctor for Brooke (to get her back on medicine for her ears) we headed down to Flossmoor for the Malic side.

Hey Blake, show me your new sword...

Oh look, it is a Christmas miracle, a picture of Louis and I.

This year was so much fun. Blake was totally into opening presents (in fact he opened pretty much everyone's) and was so excited for Santa. We made cookies and watched a zillion Christmas movies. I bet next year is even better when Brooke can get more into the holiday spirit.

Random Malic Happenings

The month of December is definitely always a busy one!

Yep, that is a rare picture of Louis and I, haha. A few years ago my parents started a tradition of going out to a nice dinner as our little Unti Family Christmas dinner. We didn't take the kids so we could have a relaxing night out but luckily Grandma and Grandpa Malic were willing to babysit!

(P.S. Why does my head look so fat compared to Louis'?)

Blake is very insistent on his wardrobe it is exclusively t-shirts and sweatpants. He refuses to wear long sleeve shirts lately... 20 degrees doesn't stop him.

I always try to do some Christmas crafts with Blake. Last year we colored ornaments and so this year I decided to do something similar and do stain glass window ornaments. Blake loved painting them!!

Uncle Sean had Brooke try on her sunglasses! That girl is gong to love the beach!!

We have been plagued with some winter sickness. Louis had a pretty bad case of the flu last week and so all of us are taking medicine to not get sick. Poor Brooke has ANOTHER ear infection as well. Fingers crossed everyone is feeling better by the time Santa arrives!!

Blake's Holiday Show

So let me just say that I was worried about this holiday show. Last year Blake was really shy and didn't really participate. This year before the show he told me that he didn't want to wear the snowman hat. When we got there he had to be pulled out of my arms and was screaming and crying. I definitely wasn't expecting ANYTHING from him on stage (if he even went on at all). Well, his teachers and friends must have turned him around because when he marched out to the stage he was LOVING IT! He wore his costume and sang and danced. He ended up not wanting to leave and staying to play with his friends!

Santa made a surprise visit. Blake didn't want to get close but was willing to stand by him as long as his bestie, Adelyn was there. Blake asked Santa for a kitchen and big shooting gun. I know one of those presents Santa will fulfill :)

B&B Update

Blake loves to come to the grocery store with me, however prepping for Thanksgiving dinner shopping was too much for him to handle, he slept the entire time in the store!

Brooke loves to climb in the bouncy seat at school even though she is way too big for it!

Blake is slightly confused on the season, he thinks winter is a time for t-shirts, shorts and sweatshirts. Jackets, hats, gloves etc are for wimps

Rockin' her first set of pigtails!!!

Brooke 9 Months

This past month has been a big one for Brooke. She got two teeth in FINALLY!!! She also started crawling. She is now cruising around everywhere and getting into everything. The baby gate has gone back up and we have to watch her like a hawk. She is pulling herself up onto things and daycare thinks she is going to learn to walk really fast. I don't know if we are ready for that yet, she is still our baby!!! She continues to love eating real food and wants no part of any baby food. She LOVED her first Thanksgiving meal. Brooke is wearing all 12 month clothes. She is not a fan of sitting in her carseat and we need to switch her soon out of the snap and go seat. She struggles with consistent naps and is consistently a VERY early riser, much to Daddy and Mommy's disapproval. Blake is by far her favorite and any attention he gives her, she eats it up. We love you sweetie!!

Picture taking is getting challenging as all she wants to do is move

Blake loves taking pictures

On the move!!

Our Preschooler

At the beginning of November Blake officially moved into the preschool classroom. Our little man is getting so big, I can't stand it. He is very into picking out his own wardrobe and if given the chance, he would wear his PJ's to school everyday. He is still super sweet to Brooke but he does not like when she touches his toys..... that is going to be a problem real quick when she is crawling. He is super talkative and wants to understand and know everything. We love our big boy!!

Halloween

This year we had a little strawberry and Spider-Man. The weather was terrible, it was very windy and cold (in fact, on the way to school it was snowing!!).

After school Blake didn't want to go trick-or-treating and instead was perfectly content watching for the kids to come to the door and pass out candy to them. And yes, he is wearing his Spider-Man PJ's instead of his Spider-Man costume.

At one point Blake decided he wanted to go trick-or-treat but refused to put warm clothes on. We got 4 steps on the sidewalk and he got cold and cried and asked to come back inside. Haha. Maybe next year will be the year he gets into it and has fun. :)

Brooke 8 Months

Our little bean is 8 months old..... what?? She is such a sweet little girl. She is trying her hardest to start crawling. She can get on all fours and rock or scoot backwards but hasn't mastered crawling yet. I am guessing within 2 weeks we will have the baby gates back up and go into full baby getting into everything mode! She LOVES to eat real food and will shovel anything into her mouth you put in front of her. We are starting to practice with the sippy cup. She will drink out of it, but still wants us to hold it for her. I think Daddy has claimed her favorite person spot, she lights up whenever he is around and wants to be able to see him at all times. Blake is still a close second. She is wearing pretty much all 12 month clothing (she will also wear some 6-12 month Old Navy stuff). She continues to be a medical marvel because she still just has her two teeth she got at 2.5 months. Brooke talks up a storm, she says ba-ba, da-da mostly but we did hear one ma-ma!!
