Back in the spring I was having a really crappy day at work and my brother called me and asked if I wanted to go to Florida in October and stay at his friend's condo. I said yes....and thank goodness I did. We have never taken the kids on an airplane and all Blake wanted for his birthday was to go on an airplane so this trip's timing was perfect. My parents decided to come along and met us down there (the kids were surprised).
At the airport waiting to get on the plane
Ready for take off!
Enjoying the entertainment
And then they fell asleep!
While we were waiting to get on the plane in Chicago, the pilot came up to the kids and said that after the flight he would let them go into the cockpit. Since the kids fell asleep and were woken up by the landing they were a little grumpy but still went into the cockpit :)
Once we got to the condo in Fort Myers we hit up the pool. Blake is into these silly poses!
For dinner we headed to Fort Myers beach
The only family picture we got on the trip!
After dinner we walked around downtown Fort Myers Beach and got a little silly
The next day we packed up and headed to Fort Myers Beach again for a beach day. The sand was so soft that Brooke actually loved it!!
after spending some time at the beach we drove over to Sanibel and Captiva. We found a fun little outdoor restaurant and hung out a bit
Our view at dinner :)
Waiting for our food....we got silly
The next day we rented a boat and hit the water....
It's hard to take a picture when the sun is in your eyes!
We parked the boat at a little beach and got out to explore and then Brooke and Blake had a dance party...and yes Brooke had a naked one!
When nature calls and this is what you have to work with!
The boat always puts the kids to sleep
Getting silly at lunch
First time mini-golfing
The next pictures are the pretty scenic pictures, mostly taken by Louis.
It was such a great "mini" trip. The kids had a ton of fun and were GREAT traveling. We really enjoyed Fort Myers and a special thanks to Sean for hooking us up with a great condo to stay.
