It was 30 degrees out this past weekend but Blake LOVES being outside. He also is too much of a tough guy to wear his coat so sweatshirt and hat was all he needed to talk a walk down the street. We can't wait for it to get warm.

While I totally realize that Blake won't remember coloring Easter eggs, Louis and I will, so this year we attempted to color Easter eggs. Lets just say that it did not go so smoothly, but hey, it was all about the experience!!
Blake was in charge of dropping the color tablet into the cup...well he put multiple colors in some cups. He is such a rebel!
He was way more fascinated with trying to crack open the egg than dye them. He was also really impatient waiting for the eggs to turn colors so most of the time Louis was in charge of watching Blake while I colored the eggs
Our eggs! (the one that looks greenish is the one that Blake put multiple colors in), then there is a blue one that says Blake and my pink one with swirls.
It was definitely more work and mess than fun but who cares, it was something to do as a family! Next year I think Blake will do much better with it.

I am continuing with our weekly theme of showing you some of the nature in our backyard. Last week we had a "herd" come through our backyard. There were 8-9 deer. It is so much fun to look out of our windows and see nature and not just backyards. Perfect house!

This month for our Malic/Kramer date we decided to head to Naperville to go to the DuPage Children's Museum. We met for lunch at 11am so that we could get there right around when they opened and before it got insane. Good thing because by the time we left were we not only exhausted but it was pretty crowded.
Blake hanging the fish on the hooks
Blake and Daddy playing with the track
You could create your own ramps and everytime Blake put a piece in the wall he would clap because he was proud of himself.
I was super impressed with Miss Raegan. She was running and playing and not nearly as shy as she has been in the past.
They had a water station and of course that is where Blake spend most of his time
Yep, that is my kid trying to eat the toys. Side note, he was pretty much the only kid who refused to wear the apron so he got soaked and I had to change his shirt.
In the wind tunnel trying to throw a frisbee
Playing with the trap door in the sailboat
He found this step stool and brought it over to the display
Had to get a picture with Raegan at this infant station, makes her look tall :)
It was so nice to hang out with Eric, Katie and Raegan but ALL of us were exhausted at the end. I think there will be a future Malic/Kramer adult only date cause this kids can wear us out!

On Thursday night we packed the car up and picked up James to head to Michigan to visit Melanie, Ryan and Maddie. We didn't get there until after midnight Michigan time, and Blake wasn't that tired so it threw off his schedule pretty much all weekend.
On Friday morning Melanie let Maddie and Blake play with a sensory bin of rice. There was rice EVERYWHERE. They absolutely loved every second of it. It kept them entertained for an hour, which is an eternity in toddler time.
Maddie had lots of fun new toys for Blake to explore
After nap time, we headed over to Jungle Java to let the kids run off some energy and play. At the beginning, Blake was really into it, but then towards the end got clingy and crabby pants so we ended up leaving.
Blake's latest funny face
Baby picture! These kids are getting big.
This picture is my favorite because you can see how much taller Blake is than Maddie.
Uncle James teaching Blake the art of "relaxing on the couch"
Before we left on Sunday, Blake and Maddie both decided to wear Maddie's coats (yes, Blake is wearing Maddie's purple coat) and run around the house. Poor Melanie was trying to gate them in... no easy task.
It was so nice to be able to see them and it stinks that we live so far away, but I am already looking forward to next time.

This weekend Kathy and James came over and Kathy captured this picture. I am totally in love with this picture. I think it is sweet and fun and totally Blake and Louis.
Blake has really taken a liking to brushing his teeth. Granted, he just sucks the water off but its a start
Who doesn't love bubbles?

This past weekend my Grandma, Aunt Linda, Uncle Steve and cousins Erik and Mitch came down to visit. On Friday night we ordered LouMalnati's and on Saturday after Blake's swim lessons and nap, we headed to the Lucky Monk for lunch. Afterwards we went to Cabela's to look around and give Blake a change of scenery. Of course the whole weekend the only pictures I took were at Cabela's and all of Blake. Shame on me!
Blake warming up by the fake fire
Blake is telling Erik to come sit shotgun
Cabela's is the best "zoo"
All of the playing required to sit and take a rest
What a cutie! I am happy to report that today we successfully got Blake a haircut and he no longer looks crazy!
