Our Life Lately

It is really fun to see B&B play together. I know they are going to cause lots of trouble as they get older. They both love to sit in Daddy's office and be silly on his chair.

I ordered the kids some new swimsuits and Blake decided that he needed to take his for a test drive in the bathtub. Do you think someone is ready for the beach?

Miss B is walking! Well, really she takes like 10 steps and then crawls but still. She is doing it!!!

This girl LOVES tents!!

Blake loves crafting

I mean, how cute is that face?

Visiting the big kid room at daycare. She officially moves up next week.

This girl thinks she is fancy pants sitting at the big kid table doing crafts!

B&B Weekly Update

The crazy weather this winter hasn't really allowed the best opportunity for Blake to get outside and build a snowman. Luckily, this past weekend it was perfect for packing. It should be noted that immediately after making the snowman he climbed up them and jumped on them and destroyed them. Such a boy!!

Brooke refuses to nap at school, and this is the result.....napping while eating lunch!!

Blake pondering while playing legos

Black is his favorite color.....

She would play hide and seek all day every day

Where did my baby go? She is standing acting all cool....

Blake's Playdate

Blake and Brady have been "best friends" forever. They LOVE each other. They constantly talk about one another and often get separated at school because of their constant need to be together. Blake probably asks me 100 questions a day all relating to Brady. Britt (Brady's Mom) and I decided that we need to get these kids together outside of school. We decided to meet at the Treehouse in Lake Zurich so the boys could just run. Man, they had a BLAST. They ran non-stop for two hours and Blake passed out in the car on the way home (that is the definition of a successful playdate).

Brady loves wearing his hockey jerseys and wanted Blake to wear one too, so he brought him one to wear and it was so small but Blake was such a great sport and wore it the entire time!!

Hugs all around!!

Winter Fun

This post contains a bunch of random happenings lately around the Malic household.

The Friday before the Superbowl Miss Brookie had to stay home from daycare because she had a fever the day before. It was a nice Mommy/Brookie play day.

On Superbowl Sunday, it snowed a LOT (20 inches). That called for playing out in the snow. Blake practiced making snow angels.

Blake insisted that everyone wear "goggles" while swimming inside.... Brooke rockin' the goggles

Uncle Sean bought Blake some pirate gear....

Brooke: 11 Months

How in the heck am I writing her 11 month post? I swear it was yesterday that she was born. Heck, this time last year I was walking around 4 cm dilated and convinced she was going to make an early arrival. She has developed quite a personality. She makes faces that I know I will see when she is a teenager. She points to everything she wants and gets VERY upset if she doesn't get her way. Brooke has an obsession with our microwave and just stares at it. Haha. This past month she got her ear tubes and she did great and knock on wood, so far her ears have been clear. She is in love with Blake and when he gives her attention she is the happiest girl ever. She FIGHTS nap time, she knows she might miss out on something and cannot allow that to happen. She hasn't walked yet but stands by herself and walks while holding something. Her hair is getting super crazy so it is getting harder to tame it. She isn't a fan of holding her own sippy cup and only eats finger foods. At this rate, she will never learn to use utensils because she refuses to let us feed her with them! She is wearing size 18 month clothes.

Taking monthly pictures at this age is extremely difficult. She does not sit still. Luckily, I have Blake help take the pictures and she will entertain me for a bit. The first two pictures below were taken all by Blake :)

Weekly B&B Update

Miss Brookie: She is becoming a Mama's girl. Lately she wants to only be held by me and cries/reaches for me. She tries her hardest to keep up with Blake and has been standing really well by herself. She is too scared to step without holding on, but I don't think walking is that far off. I am starting to plan her first birthday party-- um, how the heck did almost 12 months go by so fast? We are working on getting her to nap consistently at school and sleep in (she is up by 5:15am regularly).

Blake: He is all boy. He wants to discuss bad guys ALL THE TIME. He loves playing bad guys, santa's sleigh and train conductor. He has so much energy I have no idea where he gets it, yet totally crashes everyday and naps regularly. He might be too into bad guys because he is scared to sleep in his room alone so he has been sleeping on our floor (a habit we need to break!). He loves wearing costumes and if you stop by our house at any given time we ALL are dressed up to fight bad guys. He loves Brooke, but does not like it when she gets more attention from Mommy.
