Wisconsin Dells Vacation {Part 1}

This year we headed to Chula Vista Resort to hang out and "relax". We got a 2 bedroom condo which, we have decided with two babies was not the best idea and poor James, Colleen and Sean had to deal with early morning craziness. Here is the view of the Wisconsin River from our condo.

At dinner the first night. Blake and Raegan were playing on the bench. Poor Raegan can't even see over it so Blake gave her the play by play of what was going on.

Because we were the anal parents who insisted on getting to the pool when it opened to get a spot in the shade for the babies, Raegan got the entire wave pool to herself. (Blake was napping).

I am starting to perfect the Louis' one hand picture taking method

Blake hanging out at the edge of the wavepool

This is what happens when we attempt to take a family picture. Blake crawls away

Blake enjoyed climbing on the lounge chairs more than the wavepool

Jacuzzi tub party in the condo

Uncle Eric showed Blake how the cooler handles flipped around, Blake thought it was so cool

Starting a Tradition

This week has been going super slow, I compare it to the few days before Christmas when you just want Santa to come! I think the reason that this week has gone so slow is because I am looking forward to the weekend. Last year, the Malic/Kramer/Unti clan decided to take a vacation to the Wisconsin Dells. Katie and I were both pregnant and it was a great way to get some fun and relaxing time together. We have decided that we had so much fun we are going to make it a yearly tradition. This year we now have Blake and Raegan along to experience the fun (oh and Colleen is coming too!). It should be interesting to see all of the crap that is packed in the car for the few day adventure. I will make sure to post pictures and fun of the trip. Everyone cross your fingers Blake doesn't attack Raegan.

Party Like Its 2002 {CLS 10 Year High School Reunion}

My ten year high school reunion isn't until September but through the power of Facebook, us girls were able to plan so that all of us are going to be there. Melissa and Laura are flying in from the west coast!

I spent my four years of high school hanging out with Melissa, Katie, Katie, Lindsay and Laura pretty much everyday. Yes, we fought over dumb stuff but at the end of the day we had some really great times together. It is crazy how much can change in ten years. There are now babies (Katie has Henry and Gavin, Lindsay has Cora and me, Blake) and marriages, college, careers etc. I can't wait to see them all again.

P.S. I completely understand I was rocking bangs in all of these pictures but I swear it was acceptable back then!!

No Power No Problem

If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you already saw this picture of the Blake Man.

We woke up this morning to some pretty crazy storms. The lights flickered on and off a few times but nothing big. Then right before we needed to leave the power went out. Thirty minutes later and still no power we attempted to drive to daycare. Daycare also had no power so I brought Blake home and we had breakfast (near the window to get some light). Luckily the power came back on and I was able to bring Blake back to daycare. Unlucky for me, I had to come home and log on to work.

Blake didn't know what to make of the storm, he kept staring out the window. He wasn't scared though. Tough little guy!

Instagram

I know that I am probably uber late to this party (and not fashionably late) but I recently discovered the fun of Instagram. It is like facebook but with just pictures. It also allows you to edit the photos and apply cool filtering etc. I am still new so I have no idea how to get all fancy with it but if anyone wants to follow me my username is jennymalic. Go ahead and follow me and then you can get even more Blake pictures!!

I also wanted to let you know that I found some new fun blogs recently that I am really digging, so go ahead and check them out. I have also posted them on Favorites section.

Family Photos

Some of you may have noticed the new blog banner. About a month ago, we went to get family pictures taken. I had gotten a Living Social deal for the photographer (Caitlin) that the Kramer's use for everything. It turned out really well and luckily Blake cooperated as best as an 8 month old can in 100 degree weather. I am still trying to decide which photo's and what size I want to order prints. In the meantime, here are some photo's to enjoy.

Swinging

Blake loves swings. He gets so excited whenever he is in one and cries when we take him out. So this past weekend when we went up to Lake Geneva we stopped at the park near Gordy's and let him enjoy the wind in the little hair he has.

America's Birthday

I know that this post is a little late but better late than never. For the 4th of July we headed down to Flossmoor for the day. Blake got to enjoy some quality Grandma and Grandma Malic time. He was a big fan of their sunken living room and climbed the two steps probably 100 times.

Since Grandma knew how much he liked his pool she got him one to enjoy as well.

Overall it was a great day, even though it was super hot and I had to put my feet in Blake's pool to have some relief.

9 Month Photo Shoot

Can someone please remind me when I have my next child to re-think the monthly picture strategy? It was nearly impossible to get Blake to cooperate. I even enlisted Louis' help and no luck. The kid only wanted to escape or destroy the picture frame.

This is the only good picture that captures the essence of Blake at this age

Trying to escape

Apparently it is more fun under chair than on it for pictures

9 months

Today Blake is 9 months old, he officially has been out of my belly as long as he was in there. Goodness lord I was pregnant a long time!!

He is doing so well and getting so big. He is 29.25 inches (although I think he is slightly longer, he didnt want to straighten out at the doctor) and is just under 20 pounds at 19 lbs 15 oz. He is in the 85% for height and 70% for weight.

He has been a lot more clingy towards Louis and I lately, and I secretly love it. It is the best feeling when he comes and stands and wraps his arms around my legs. Although, when I am trying to get ready for work in the morning it does present a challenge.

He has 6 teeth and is not afraid to use them.

Blake Man in the Morning

During the week, the mornings are the most amount of time we get to spend with the little peanut. Needless to say its definitely an adventure trying to get him and us all ready and out the door. To keep Blake entertained we rotate between letting him play in his room and ours.

Blake found Louis' boots in the closet

Since Louis and I have to get ourselves ready Blake gets to spend a lot of time in the bathroom. He is fascinated by the shower curtain because he knows that Daddy is behind there but can't see him.

Blake is a champ at unrolling the toilet paper.

In other news (not like any of you really care but I will share anyways) Blake is continuing to teeth. His nose is a faucet and the drool is insane. Poor kid, teething is torture.

Malic Update

I haven't been taking a lot of pictures this past week of Blake. Reason being, he is teething again. He is getting his two front teeth and was miserable yesterday. The amount of snot and drool and screaming was at an all time high. We had to leave the Gutzmer's party early yesterday and thank goodness we did because he had a royal meltdown. Teething is torture although I am not sure if its worse for him or us.

Here are some random updates about our life:

I got 4 books for my birthday (thanks Kathy), I already finished one and am working on another. Can someone tell me how I can get paid to read?

We go on our Malic/Kramer vacation in 3 weeks and I am pumped. Katie and I have already discussed matching outfits for Blake and Raegan.

Louis and I are trying to get back into some decent shape and have been doing workouts at home at night after Blake goes to bed. Please keep us on track!

I have already been planning Blake's first birthday party- a little crazy, maybe but it will be here before we know it!!!

James is in the process of buying a house so the month of August will include a lot of helping the bro-in-law

Blake tried to drink the pool water at his swim lesson on Saturday-- what a goof!!

That is all I can think of for now, I know, we are boring.

Just Keep Swimming

On Saturday Blake had his first swim lesson. I was so excited to start lessons with him. Louis and I love being in and around the water so we knew it was important to start Blake early. The class was mostly playing and singing in the water. Blake did however go underwater twice. The instructor took him and put him under through the hoop and I got him. He didn't even cry! Then on the noodle boats he started kicking. We might have a future Olympic star

Blake's Baptism

Today we finally baptized Blake. It was quite a long process but I am so glad that we were able to celebrate the little peanut. We baptized Blake at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Barrington, IL. It was nice because it was a private ceremony. Before the ceremony we all went to lunch (a quick one!) then headed over to the church. Katie and James did a great job as godparents. We could not have picked better people. Ironically, Blake was extremely tired by the time we went to the church and actually fell asleep during the ceremony. That actually made it easier to keep him contained.

This picture cracks me up because Raegan is getting Blake back

I love this Raegan pic

After the ceremony everyone came back to our house and Blake got to open his present from Godfather James. Colleen helped put it together and Blake is loving his new wheels.

Thank you to everyone for coming and being part of Blake's special day
