The H word

That's right.....HOMEWORK. I came down with a mild case of depression last night when I realized it was finally time for me to open up the next textbook and begin my first assignment. I have been so spoiled all summer not being in class that I am finding it even more difficult to get into the swing of things. Luckily for me this will be my last semester!!! Unlucky for me this is the only semester I decided to take two classes. I apologize in advance if I am moody or tired or don't see anyone for 10 weeks starting on September 13th.

To make things even more interesting around the Malic household, Louis is also taking two classes this semester. This means not only will we not see our friends or be able to do as much but we will never see one another and our weekly date night will turn into homework night. BOOO!

Sorry, I didn't mean to be so depressing on a Tuesday morning. :)

HAPPY 27th BIRTHDAY

Happy Birthday to my husband and brother-in-law!

Louis and James' Birthday Celebration

Saturday was the official 27th birthday celebration for Louis and James. We went to Emmetts in downtown Palatine to celebrate. Louis just loves it there! (that was for you bob!)

Louis' Birthday Weekend Begins!

Louis and I both took off of work today (woohoo for that) and started the birthday celebration early. We had a fun day and the weather was perfect. We started off in downtown Naperville for lunch. We just love hanging out there and its a great place to be when the weather is nice.

Lunch at Jimmy's (we were on the edge of the patio and restaurant so we had a great breeze)

Louis with his Starbucks Iced Mocha (he was really happy)

The Riverwalk-- its so pretty!

I thought this fountain was really cool!

This bridge is really neat and perfect for photo ops!

Louis is the master at the one hand photo of us

Even though Louis is turning 27 he acted like a 5 year old trying to scare the ducks
After Naperville, we headed to Arlington racetrack. We got to hang out and bet on the horses. I am not a fan of gambling (I would rather throw money at clothes or ice-cream) but it was still fun.

The Track

You can't see the horses Louis and I bet to win because they came in dead last!!

The finish line

My horse came in second! (it was the only bet we won, I got $7.30!!)

The nice grounds

Not our best pic....

Better, minus Louis' head casting a shadow on my face

More pics of the track

Leaving the park

The flowers were awesome there

After the track we went to DTAH (Downtown Arlington Heights) and met up with Sean for dinner. We finally got to try Armands, and it was super yummy. That restaurant smells the best out of any I have ever been to!

Louis trying on Sean's sunglasses (he can't really rock those)

Louis got a Peroni and wanted a picture..no clue why!
We still have two more days to celebrate Louis' birthday weekend. More fun pics to come.

SLACKER

Yep, that's right I am a total slacker with these blog posts. SORRY!

This weekend should be a lot of fun because its Louis and James' 27th birthday. I promise some posts over the next few days.

In other random news, my photographer gave me back my wedding album (they design the first draft) and I hated it. Like full out wanted to cry because it was ugly and horrible. Now I am going to have to re-do the entire thing. YIPEE!

Kelly is in Illinois

Kelly is briefly in Illinois and we couldn't let her come and go without hanging out. Luckily Erin and Jon were nice enough to throw a Sunday BBQ and invite us. It was the perfect way to end the weekend.

I wanted to capture action shots

Nice toss Er!

The grill master (Jon, I did like my burger)

James and Bill (Mr. Irvin)

Start of L&J's Birthday Celebrations

Saturday night was the start of the twin 27th birthday celebration. Kathy and Bill came up (they braved the long journey :) ) and we all ate lunch together. Then for dinner my parents came out and we all went to William Street Public House (where we had our wedding shower and the place with the best soup ever and who put bacon in their caesar salad!!!)

The birthday boys

Mom and Me (and my dad's arm-- the only proof he was there)

Their birthday cake! (it took a billion tries to get a good pic-- thanks Louis for teaching me how to use my camera)
