Summer Fun

The last few weeks have been really busy in the Malic household. The weather has been amazing so we are trying to take full advantage because you never know how long it will last. The other weekend we decided to meet up with the Kramers and Sumps at Three Oaks Recreation Beach for a fun water day. It is crazy that we went from college frat parties to playdates. I love that we have been friends for so long!!

Miss Nancy wasn't sure of this beach thing at the beginning

Trucks + Sand= Heaven for my kids

We haven't had a picture together in awhile, much needed!!

Mary, Nancy and I

Blake is a baby whisperer, he speaks this babbble that all babies seem to LOVE. Nancy was no exception.

Ice Cream Break!

For those of you who read this blog regularly know that Blake has two best friends, Brady and Adelyn. He loves these two so much. So when I got this picture from school I almost died. I texted Britt (Brady's Mom) right away saying lets keep this one to show them when they graduate high school.

Goofball at school

My new favorite picture. When these two love each other it is so cute.

Hi, my name is Blake and I have a stuffed animal addiction. Blake got to pick a toy at the mall, and he picked Sven.

Teaching my kids the value of a sale!! Ha.

Last weekend we met up with Matt, Mary and Nancy again at the CLCC to take advantage of their membership for some pool time. We didn't get a lot of time in (boo lightning!!) but we made the most of our time. Brooke LOVED this pool because she could touch by the stairs. She felt like such a big girl.

Brooke: "Oh, I can touch!"

Brooke has done a 180, she went from screaming in swim class in February to cruising through the swim levels. On Wednesday she got a ribbon for moving up yet again to another level. Here is how they take a picture to celebrate, ha.

I love when I get pictures from school of the kids throughout the day.

Um, where did my baby go she isn't in this picture :(

Pretty sure Blake's favorite day is water day!

Happy Summer!

Life Lately

Here is our life lately!

Blake moved up another level at swimming this week and got a ribbon. He was very proud of himself!

Brooke wanted in on the picture

Blake loves school, especially arts and crafts

Brookie loves it too!

Last Friday night I went out to dinner with Britt and Wendy (aka Brady and Adelyn's Moms) to a sushi restaurant. Britt captured my first time trying sushi!

Saturday morning no one is at the park as early as us, dang these kids and their early wake up times!

Bike insisted on riding his bike to the park to practice :) He is finally coming around to loving his bike

We took the kids to the Arlington Race track for the first time. They were super excited to see the horses, although we picked all losers and came home without winning

After the racetrack we stopped by to see James, Colleen and McKenna. Blake and McKenna have a special bond. Blake literally can speak her language and she loves it!!

Cousin pic!!

Monday night it was 85 degrees outside and we forgot to take down the kiddie pool in the backyard so the kids had a pre-dinner party.

Then we got crazy and took the kids slide from the basement and turned our little pool into a waterpark!

And yep, Brooke refuses to wear a swimsuit for more than 30 seconds.....

4th of July Celebrations

This past weekend we did a lot! Having kids makes the holidays so much more fun because you get to experience all the joy and fun all over again!

First up, on Friday night we went to the Crystal Lake Lakeside Fest. We met up with some of Blake's friends and their awesome parents. Although, since we spent our entire salary on ride tickets we think we will opt to only take the kids during the wristband unlimited ride times next year!!

Blake and Mason on the motorcycle

Britt (aka Brady's Mom), Beth (aka Mason's Mom) and I. So glad I have become friends with such awesome Mom's!

Who knows what these crazies were talking about.

Brooke HATES loud noises, she is very sensitive to them. Therefore the only ride she went on all night was the train ride. She was a fan!!

Blake and Brady on the big slide.

This picture perfectly sums them up.

Blake also got to experience his first ferris wheel ride :)

Thanks Britt for the photo op during the ride

On Saturday we went with my parents and headed up towards Fontana (on Geneva Lake in Wisconsin) for a day at the beach. The weather was perfect!!

Little diva was NOT having it with her feet touching the sand, her solution, sit on the chair and play.

The big sand hill was the biggest hit with Blake. He would have stayed there all day if we let him

We took a lunch break at Gordy's (literally right next to the beach)

Even though the kids had not really napped, we gambled and took them over to Pier 290 for some more play time while the adults had some beverages at the outside bar area. Right next to the bar is sand for the kids to play in.... win!

Little diva approved of this sand on her toes (in all fairness this sand was more sugar sand and not as rocky as the beach).

Getting good at the selfie game

Mom and Dad :)

We even saw a shark when we were leaving!!

On Sunday (my birthday!!) we woke up and headed downtown CL for breakfast (which will now be a tradition since we have done it two years in a row). The kids actually let me take some pictures. Matching shirts for the win.

After breakfast we decided to go to the CL parade. We had never been. We found a great spot at my old church and set up camp to wait for the parade. Next year we will be a little more prepared on how it all goes down. There were LOTS of people and it was a great parade.

Poor girl couldn't stay awake. This is impressive considering the HATES loud noises and feel asleep during the parade. I did keep her ears covered though ;)

We ended the night with the CL fireworks. My parents stayed with Brooke (again with the loud noises and her not being a fan) and we took Blake. He played catch for about 1.5 hrs before the fireworks. He was LOVING running around.

I didn't get any pictures on the actual 4th, shame on me but we went to lunch at the Malic's and then stopped by Amy and Graham's for their annual 4th of July party. The kids LOVED all of Jackson's toys and backyard play stuff. A great summer weekend that left us all exhausted!
