Brooke's First Day of School

On Tuesday Brooke started her first day of daycare. I remember when Blake started I was a hot mess and cried. With her, I felt good knowing that she would be in the best possible hands (Ms. Tessa is the BEST). Of course I was sad I didn't get to be with this smiley happy girl all day long but she is having a great time so far. The teachers love her and everyday she gets to visit with Blake.

She fell asleep outside...silly girl

Blake Update

My Mom tells me all the time after Blake does or say something funny that I should be documenting this in his baby book. I find this ironic because my Mom didn't document that much in my baby book but it did get me thinking. When he was little every month I would give my update on him but now that he is older I haven't really been capturing how fun he is at each stage. Each month I will try and do a recap for Blake and Brooke.

Lately this is what my little man has been up to...

The park, the park, the park. The kid LOVES the park. Swings, slides, sand area you name it. He has NO FEAR and will climb and jump on everything.

The kid loves being outside, but he especially loves playing with water. He doesn't care if its a large pool or just an ice bucket, he will play all day long if we let him. He is also a big fan of stripping down when playing in the water. (P.S. This water was FREEZING and he didn't care at all)

Blake has a soft side. He never goes anywhere without his blankie and sleeps with about 1,000 stuffed animals. He gives them hugs all the time and takes them to school and outside.

Trucks and Sports. This kid loves any trucks or cars that are big-- the bigger the better. He also really likes to play golf and catch and tackle.

He is the sweetest big brother. He gives her the bottle and will put the blankie on her to keep her warm. He even sings to her when she cries. He is always sweet to her. He doesn't like it when Mommy gives Brooke too much attention and wants Mommy for himself but he sure does love Brooke.

He of course still has a life long bond with his toy lawnmower. This is by far his favorite toy and he asks everyday to play with it. He understands everything and mimics the funny phrases everyone says. He likes Woody and Buzz from ToyStory and the movie Frozen (aka the "snowman movie"). Applesauce and fruit snacks would be his diet if I let him. He thinks its cool to drink out of a water bottle. He is potty trained for during the day and we even got him to poop on the potty (a HUGE accomplishment).

We love you buddy!

Almost back to work

I can't believe that next Tuesday I have to return to work. Those 12 weeks just seemed to fly by. It is always bittersweet to go back to work. One the one hand I am ready to have some adult interaction and get to be baby free for a portion of my day. On the other hand, Brooke is just starting to really interact and is all smiles so just when its getting fun, I have to leave her. I know that she is going to be in great hands though. She is going to be going to the same place Blake is at and the teachers LOVE her already and cannot wait to get their hands on her. She will be very loved during the day which is all I can ask for. Until then, I need to soak up these last few days with my little lady.

Malic Happenings

Here is an update on what has been going on around the Malic household.

Blake:
This past weekend we took away the pullups/diapers except for nap/nighttime. So far he has been doing great. He has only had a few accidents and every time it is because he doesn't want to poop in the potty. We are working on that but I have a feeling that will be an uphill battle. I have tried every form of bribery I can think of and if cookies and cupcakes don't work, I have no clue what will. Lately he wants to sleep in our bed but we have convinced him to stay in his room so he has decided that he wants to sleep in his sleeping bag on his bed. Whatever works to keep him in his room. He is loving on Brooke lately and he always refers to her as "my baby". He really likes her as long as I don't give her too much attention. He still sits on my lap and eats all of my food at meals :)

Brooke:
She just had her two month appointment on Tuesday. She is 12 lbs 9 oz and 24 inches. She is growing like a weed. She does have a flat head in the back but luckily it is symmetrical so if we can keep her off of her head when she isn't sleeping it will hopefully correct itself. We do not want to get her a helmet like we did with Blake so fingers crossed. She cried during her shots and slept most of the day after them but is doing great. She is quite chatty and smiley lately.

I wonder what he is telling her

Brooke Two Months

Ok, seriously how the heck is she two months old already? She is still a very happy and relaxed baby. This last month we have seen a lot more talking out of her. She loves to smile and coo and she talks the most to Grandma Unti and Mommy (probably because we look so much alike!!). She is still really into her playmat. We moved her to her crib this past month and she definitely isn't a big fan. She would much rather sleep in her Rock N' Play. She does sleep a 5-6 hour stretch at night most nights so we can't complain (well, actually we still complain about wanting more sleep but what can ya do?). She is eating 3-4oz every 2-3 hours during the day. Brooke is wearing size 1 diapers but after this box is done, she is moving to size 2. She is wearing 3-6 month clothing and some of her onesies should really be 6 month for the length! She really likes to watch Blake and doesn't seem to mind at all that he is super loud and takes lots of Mommy and Daddy's attention. She still has those pretty blue eyes so fingers crossed they stay.

And because everyone seems to like seeing how much Brooke and Blake look alike, here is Blake at 2 months.
