Blake and Family Pictures

Well Blake is officially over two weeks old. Time is flying!

He is in the 98th percentile for height and 90th percentile for head circumference. He is 7 lbs 14oz so he is getting close to being back to his birth weight.

Blake Louis Malic

Blake Louis Malic entered the world on October 13th, 2011 at 6:51pm weighing 8lbs 3oz and 21 inches long. Mommy had to push for 2.5 hrs but it was definitely worth it!!!

We are still adjusting to life with a newborn but just can't get enough of our little peanut.

We have already learned the following:
1. He loves to pee on us when we are changing him
2. He insists on keeping his hands at his face at all times
3. The paci is the world's greatest invention
4. All newborn onesie's need to be zippers....so much easier than snaps
5. Sleep is a luxury

The Nursery

I used my phone to take few quick pictures of the finished nursery. Louis and I wanted to keep the room pretty neutral but still have some baby elements. We went with a nautical theme for the little man.

The ship wheel was a find from Aunt Katie! The picture frames under the TV are actually from the baby shower and have boats glued to them.

Along the wall with the window are two prints we have of Hilton Head Island, we also have a print from San Francisco. I really like that we incorporated some personal items in his room.

He already has a basket of toys ready to go!

Now we just need him to arrive......

Playing the waiting game

Our before baby checklist has been completed! Time is flying by, I honestly didn't know if we would get it all done before he arrived but we have. (I place some blame on Katie and Melanie for being sooo proactive, it made me think I was way behind ;) ) The room is setup, the clothes washed, toys put away, carseat installed (and inspected), completed the childbirth classes, hospital bags packed and all of the insurance/leave paperwork is ready to go. Heck, we even have an email ready to go so all Louis has to do is insert cute pictures and details and hit send so everyone will know when he arrives. While I am extremely glad that we got it all done, I am now left to play the waiting game. Each day feels so long because I am anxious, excited, nervous, happy that we are going to finally get to meet our little guy and bring him home. Not to mention, I am not a fan of being 9 months pregnant, I cannot wait to be able to tie my shoes, get up without it being a big deal, not have to go to the bathroom multiple times each night, see my feet when I look down, wear my regular clothes, go in a hot tub and drink a beer!

I know Louis is getting really excited and I am so thankful that he is because I think its hard as the dad to get as emotionally connected during these 9 months because they aren't carrying the baby. He is probably more excited though because he doesn't actually have to give birth, rather watch me do all the work!

This past weekend we were able to sneak in our last big date night before the baby. We decided to go to the Westin where we got married and dinner at the place we had the rehearsal dinner. It was so relaxing and fun to get away without actually being away.

Sorry that I haven't been having posts with pictures but the camera is packed in the hospital bag and that is where it is staying until this baby comes because knowing our luck we would take it out and forget it when the time comes!

How the heck am I going to keep up once the baby arrives?

I have been a slacker on the blog front for awhile and for that I apologize. Although, in all fairness every night after work Louis is using the computer to log on to work and continue working (boo to that!).

In baby world, we are pretty much ready for the little man's arrival. We had an amazing shower, that baby malic got a lot of great gifts and then Louis and I went out and bought the rest of the stuff we need. All of his clothes are washed and the nursery is pretty much set. Louis has put together the swing as well-- which was way more complicated than necessary because Graco's directions sucked. All we have left is to put the carseat in the car and the extra base in the other car and get the seat inspected this weekend, as well as some last minute items in the hospital bag (aka all of Louis' things :) )

This weekend Louis and I are going to have our last official date night without the baby (hopefully). We are going to the Westin to spend the night (the same hotel we got married at) and out to dinner where we had our rehearsal dinner. I am really looking forward to some quality time with the husband, although with our luck it will be pouring rain and I will go into labor in the hotel elevator ;)

I will share some pictures of the shower if I ever get the computer one of these nights!
