M-O-L-D

Yep, thats right, mold! Last night when Louis was tearing out our kitchen floors (with my help, aka supervision) we found some mold on the wood floorboards. We used bleach on it to clean it up but our kitchen still has an awful smell and is now giving me headaches. We will be doing round 2 of cleaning to try and remove all smells. If anyone has suggestions or recommendations on how to best get rid of it-- I am all ears!

  1. If it's not a huge area, I'd highly recommend replacing the floor boards; it's not that hard, we replaced a few of ours that were warped. We had mold on our roof boards and I had them tear every single one out. I know that's probably not what you want to hear, but in all of my experience with mold, it has always come back.

  3. Better be safe than sorry. You should thoroughly inspect the area and see if it's the only place that's been contaminated with molds. Have the floorboards replaced, if necessary. If you don't remove the source, they'll just keep coming back and that's more of a hassle than having them eliminated completely.
